The value of Iran's exports to Central Asian countries - Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan - amounted to $354 million during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
The spokesman noted that the value of Iran's exports to Uzbekistan for the 5 months amounted to $174 million, to Turkmenistan - $117 million, while to Kazakhstan - $63 million.
Previously Latifi said Iran exported 333,000 tons of goods worth $164 million to Uzbekistan, as well as imported 70,000 tons of goods worth $91.3 million from there over the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
As for Turkmenistan, Iran exported 728,000 tons of goods worth about $136 million to Turkmenistan, while imported 65,000 tons of goods worth $20 million from this country last Iranian year, Latifi had said.
Meanwhile, Iran's exports to Kazakhstan amounted to 336,000 tons worth $167 million last Iranian. Iran also imported 89,900 tons of goods worth $33.7 million from Kazakhstan within the mentioned period, the official had said.
Iran's trade turnover with foreign countries amounted to 59.3 million tons worth $34.2 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 38 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
So, Iran exported 45.5 million tons of goods worth $176 billion over the 5 months. The exports increased by 63 percent in terms of value and 20 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Within 5 months, Iran imported 13.8 million tons of goods worth $16.6 billion, which is an increase of 21 percent in terms of value and decreased by 5 percent in terms of volume.
