The export of gold from Georgia has decreased for the first 7 months of this year, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat).
However, domestic gold sales accounted for 2.2 percent of the top 10 exports.
According to official statistics, from January through July 2021, the country earned $36.8 million from the export of 1.1 tons of gold. The decrease compared to the same period last year is 27.7 percent.
Gold from Georgia for 4 months of this year was sold to:
1. Switzerland - $34.2 million, 1.07 tons;
2. Germany - $1.5 million, 0.04 tons;
3. United Arab Emirates - $784.8 million, 0.02 tons;
4. Turkey - $241.9 million, 0.01 tons.
