Uzbekistan foreign trade turnover increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 21

Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $24.9 billion from January through August 2021, which is an increase of $383.1 million over the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Exports accounted for $9.2 billion, most of which were goods - $6.2 billion, gold - $1.3 billion, and services - $1.6 billion.

Over the past period, Uzbekistan imported goods for $14.6 billion and services for $1 billion. The total amount of imports is $15.6 billion. At the same time, most of it fell on machinery and transport equipment - 33.6 percent, industrial goods - 18.3 percent and chemical products - 14 percent.

The main trading partners are China - $4.7 billion, Russia - $4.4 billion, and Kazakhstan - $2.4 billion. The lowest figures are for Afghanistan - $443.9 million, Turkmenistan - $418.1 million, and Ukraine - $387.6 million.

Following the results of eight months, the foreign trade balance shows negative results - $6.4 billion. During the reporting period, Uzbekistan traded with 174 countries of the world.
