TEHRAN, Iran, Oct. 11
Trend:
Iran expects to increase the export of home appliances by 50 percent in 2022, said Minister of Industries, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin, Trend reports citing ILNA.
Also, the minister noted that the increase of exports should continue into 2025.
The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) provides a financial mechanism to support the industry while issues such as rationing steel and petrochemical materials will be resolved for home appliances sector, said the minister.
There are 500 home appliance manufacturers operating in Iran and the administration is drafting a road map for next four years to accelerate exports.
The government is planning measures to confront smuggling and controlling distribution in the next two months.
Iran has banned import of home appliances since 2018. The statistics show that export of domestically manufactured home appliances is far less than the import volume in this sector.
