A number of contracts have been signed in Iran between 23 local companies and two giant automakers in the country for the domestic production of 33 types of car spare parts, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Mohsen Salehinia said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
He made the remark in an event dedicated to expand domestic production in the automotive industry at the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO).
Salehinia noted that with the domestic production of these spare parts, 56 million euro will be saved per year.
The deputy minister added that a number of contracts have been signed in Iran for the production of 154 types of car spare parts. As a result, 341 million euro a year were saved.
“By using the potential of local startups and local companies manufactured spare parts, Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran and the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) intends to increase manufacturing in terms of both quality and quantity within current year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022) and next Iranian year (21 March 2022 through March 20, 2023),” he said.
