Trend:

Kazakhstan is ready to increase trade with Turkmenistan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said during a bilateral meeting with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

In particular, Kazakhstan is ready to increase its supplies to Turkmenistan for $130 million.

After a slight decrease in bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan against the backdrop of a global COVID-19 pandemic, over eight months of this year, an increase in mutual trade was recorded by more than 30 percent.

Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan is ready to increase the supply of a range of products in 60 commodity items to Turkmenistan.

"I am sure that this task is quite possible to be achieved. In particular, it is promising to increase the supply of our agricultural products, especially flour and wheat, on mutually beneficial terms at market prices. Earlier, Kazakhstan, by agreement with the Turkmen side, began exporting wheat at an acceptable price," Tokayev stressed.
