Iran's import, export price indexes increase

Iran export and import price indexes advanced by 170.6 percent and 29.3 percent during last Iranian year (started on March 20, 2020), Trend reports citing IRNA.

An export price index measures changes in the prices of exports of merchandise from a country.

The latest data from the Statistical Center of Iran indicates price index of imported goods advanced 170.6 percent compared to 2019.

Among the imported goods, the price index of commodities like wood, wooden objects, cork, and wood coal based on rial had the minimum growth of 7.9 percent, while chemical industries had the highest growth of 554.2 percent.

The Export Price Indexes ticked up 29.3 percent in the last Iranian year compared to 2019.

The lowest increase of price index in export goods was plastic materials with 73.3 percent growth while the highest increase of price index were machinery, mechanical devices, electronics, and their parts by 691.2 percent.
