Number of licenses issued in Iran’s mining sector increases

The number of licenses issued in Iran’s mining sector increased by 2 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

According to the report, 485 licenses were issued in Iran on mining explorations. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 475 licenses.

“In addition, 249 mines in the country were licensed for launch in 6 months. This is a decrease of 19 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, a total of 309 mines were licensed for launch in the same period last Iranian year,” he said.

Expenditures on exploration operations for 6 months, increased by 237 percent and amounted to 1.93 trillion rials (about $46 million), compared to the same period last Iranian year. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure amounted to 573 billion rials ($13.6 million), the report said.
