TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 22

Trend:

The export ban of Iranian car and car parts to Syria will be lifted soon, said the Chairman of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce, trend reports citing IRNA.

In recent years, the Syrian government has banned the import of every type of car from all over the world to Syria, Keyvan Kashefi indicated.

The limited foreign exchange resources in Syria and the concern about the exchange rate jump in this country have caused the Syrian government to issue a ban on many items including car imports from Iran and several other countries, he said.

Iran Khodro and Saipa, which are represented in Syria, are equipped with the necessary equipment to assemble cars.

In recent months, Syria has ratified a new law on the import of auto parts, according to which the import of spare parts is prohibited.

He added that Saipa Group Company faced challenges, as it imported its parts from Iran.

Kashefi announced that the Minister of Industry of Syria will visit Iran in a near future, to discuss the issue of lifting the ban on the import of auto parts for Saipa to Syria and solving Iran Khodro's problems.
