Kazakhstan's TOP-3 trade partners for 9M2020 unveiled

Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $72.7 billion over the period from January through September 2021, which indicates an increase of 12.7 percent as compared to $64.5 billion during the same period last year, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The largest share of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade over the reporting period accounted for Russia with $17.2 billion in trade, which is 29.6 percent more than $13.2 billion over the same period of 2020. Russia accounted for 23.6 percent of Kazakhstan’s total foreign trade during the reporting period of 2021.

Kazakhstan’s export to Russia amounted to $5.08 billion ($3.5 billion over the 9M2020), whereas imports equaled $12.1 billion ($9.7 billion over 9M2020)

Russia is followed by China with a share of 18.5 percent in the total foreign trade turnover. China’s trade with Kazakhstan grew by 12.5 percent year-on-year from $11.9 billion over the first nine months of 2020 to $13.4 billion in the same period of 2021.

Kazakhstan’s export to China amounted to $7.2 billion ($7.3 billion over 9M2020), whereas imports amounted to $6.1 billion ($4.5 billion over 9M2020).

The third-largest trade partner of Kazakhstan was Italy with $6.6 billion in trade, which is 16.1 percent more than $5.7 billion over the same period of 2020. Italy accounted for 9.2 percent of Kazakhstan’s total foreign trade during the reporting period of 2021.

Kazakhstan's export to Italy stood at $6.1 billion ($5.05 billion over 9M2020), whereas imports equaled $567.3 million ($691.2 million over 9M2020).
