The formation of Ardabil Free Zone for Ardabil Province would be finalized soon, a member of Iran's Parliament Sadif Badri said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Iran`s Parliament has approved the plan for the creation of the free trade and industrial zone in Ardabil province, but the operation of the project has not yet been started.
Iranian MP, Sadif Badri said the parliament`s approval is enforceable and no further delay is acceptable.
In the recent visit of the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones Saeed Mohammad, to the border areas of the Ardabil province, it was decided to form the free zone at one point in the province and then join three other points to the area of Ardabil Free Zone.
Badri went on to emphasize that the establishment of free trade and industrial zone in Ardabil province is the main demand of the people of the province.
He stated that the creation of a Free Trade zone will lead to an increase in the export capacity of agricultural products in Ardabil province by three million tons.
It will increase the social welfare of the border districts, he noted.
Freedom of entry and exit of capital and profits, protection and guarantees for foreign investments, abolition of entry visas and easy issue of residence permits for foreigners, and facilitated regulation on labor relations, employment, and social security, are among the incentives and advantages for investment in Trade-Industrial Free Zones.
Iran's MP Sadif Badri noted the Ardabil Province's special geographical situation along the joint borders with the Republic of Azerbaijan and its proximity to the Caucasus and Russia.
The establishment of the Ardabil Free Trade and Industrial Zone has been approved a few months ago after a long delay in preparing a bill in the government, and consideration in the parliament, the Guardian Council, and the Expediency Council, but despite the approval, the differences between the representatives of the province have not reached anywhere.
