Iran records surge in its pharmaceutical trade turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 1

Iran's pharmaceutical trade turnover increased by 31.1 percent in value and 2.4 times in volume, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the report of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Industries, Mines and Agriculture.

According to the report, Iran's pharmaceutical trade turnover for the reporting period amounted to 147,000 tons worth $2.14 billion.

Over 9 months, Iran exported 99,000 tons of medicines, medical equipment and supplies worth $148 million.

At the same time, Iran has imported 48,000 tons of medicines, medical equipment and supplies worth $2 billion for the reporting period.

Iran exported $3.6 million worth of medical equipment, $52.5 million worth of medical supplies, $37.2 million worth of medicines and $54.8 million worth of personal protective equipment.

Also, Iran imported $256 million worth of medical equipment, $765 million worth of medical supplies, $892 million worth of medicines and $75.2 million worth of personal protective equipment.
