The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan amounted to 9.9 million tons from January through February 2022, which is 1.2 percent more than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 4.7 million tons in February 2022, which is 5.1 percent more than in February 2021.

Production of copper ores decreased by 8.1 percent during the reporting months, having amounted to 19.2 million tons (10.9 million tons in February 2022, an increase by 0.3 percent compared to the same month in 2021).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 816,900 tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 17.6 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 393,400 tons in February 2022, which is 19.1 percent less than in February 2021.

Production of gold ores amounted to 5.3 million tons over the reporting period, which is 21.1 percent more than during the same period of 2021. The volume of gold ores produced in February 2022 was 2.7 million tons, which is 24.1 percent more than in February 2021.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 1.2 million tons, which is 10.5 percent less than during the same period of 2021 (687,900 tons in February 2022, down by 12 percent compared to February 2021).

As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 57,900 tons, which is 65.4 percent less than during the same period of 2021 (18,5 tons in February 2022, a decrease of 66.4 percent compared to February 2021).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 869,600 tons, which is 0.6 percent more than during the same period of 2021 (463,000 tons in February 2022, an increase of 5.9 percent compared to February 2021).
