Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange soar

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. A total of 2.05 million tons of goods worth about 202 trillion rials (about $4.8 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (April 2 through April 7, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 107 percent in value and 32 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (March 26 through March 31, 2022).

So, 1.56 million tons of goods worth about 97.2 trillion rials (about $2.31 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, about 1.77 million tons of goods worth about 148 trillion rials (about $3.52 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME last week.

The main products sold in this section were cement, steel, sponge iron, iron ore, copper, aluminum, zinc, lead, gold bars, and etc.

In addition, about 269,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 51.3 trillion rials (about $1.22 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.

The main products sold in this section were vacuum bottom, bitumen, polymer substances, lube cut, chemicals, base oil, sulfur, argon, etc.

Furthermore, about 8,450 tons of various products worth about 2.17 trillion rials (about $51.6 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
