BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Iron ore production from the Sangan Iron Ore Complex in the Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) increased by 41 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, the complex produced 18.4 million tons of iron ore within the last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, in the preceding Iranian year, the figure stood at 13 million tons.

In addition, the Sangan Iron Ore Complex produced 1.52 million tons of iron ore pellets for the last Iranian year, which is 69 percent more than planned.

It was planned to produce 900,000 tons of iron ore pellets over the last Iranian year.

The Sangan Iron Ore Complex operates under the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). There are 7 mines in the complex.
