Iran commissions new facilities at its free trade-industrial, special economic zones

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. As many as 82 new facilities were put into operation in 5 Free Trade-Industrial Zones and 7 Special Economic Zones of Iran on May 19, 2022, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi attended the event dedicated to the commissioning of facilities via a videoconference.

In total, more than 61 trillion rials (about $1.45 billion) have been spent on the mentioned facilities.

Of these, 39 facilities were put into operation in the industrial sector, 39 - in the construction sector, and 4 - in the agricultural sector.

As a result of the commissioning of these facilities, more than 8,000 people have been provided with jobs.

The mentioned facilities were put into operations at following free trade-industrial and special economic zones:

- Aras Free Trade-Industrial Zone;

- Anzali Free Trade-Industrial Zone;

- Qeshm Free Trade-Industrial Zone;

- Kish Free Trade-Industrial Zone;

- Maku Free Trade-Industrial Zone:

- Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone;

- Namin Special Economic Zone;

- Sahlan Special Economic Zone;

- Bushehr Special Economic Zone;

- Lorestan Special Economic Zone;

- Lamerd Special Economic Zone;

- Bojnord Special Economic Zone.
