BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. Iran’s trade turnover with the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) amounted to 1.33 million tons worth $989 million for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

According to the statistics, the trade turnover increased by 19.8 percent in value, while decreasing by about 7 percent in volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.

“Whereas, in the same month of last Iranian year, trade turnover between Iran and ECO member states amounted to 1.43 million tons worth $825 million,” the statistics said.

Over the first month, Iran exported 1.06 million tons of goods worth $623 million to ECO member states. This is an increase of 16 percent in value, while a decrease of 14 percent in volume, compared to the same month last Iranian year.

At the same time, Iran imported 322,000 tons of goods worth $366 million from ECO member states for the first month. Imports increased by 27 percent in value and 59 percent in volume compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The following ten countries are at present the member states of ECO: Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Turkey, Turkmenistan, Republic of Uzbekistan.

In total, Iran's non-oil exports amounted to 7.32 million tons worth about $3.7 billion for the 1st month of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 24.6 percent in value, while a decrease of 10 percent in volume compared to the same month last Iranian year.
