BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Kazakhstan has extracted 49.1 million tons of coal over the period from January through May 2022, which is 6.4 percent more than during the same period of 2021, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The report said that the volume of coal extracted in May 2022 stood at 8.8 million tons, which in turn is 3.1 percent more than in May 2021.
Furthermore, crude oil extraction including gas condensate was 37.1 million tons during the reporting period, which is 5.1 percent more than the volume extracted during the same period of 2021. Kazakhstan’s May oil output was 6.5 million tons, which also is 4.4 percent more than during the same month of 2021.
Kazakhstan also extracted 24.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas during five months of 2022 and 4.9 billion cubic meters in May, which is 6.6 percent more and 5.9 percent more year-on-year.
Fuel oil manufacturing volume stood at 1.2 million tons and 240,400 tons during the reporting period and May 2022 respectively, which is 12 percent and 51.9 percent more than during the same period of 2021.
Kerosene manufacturing amounted to 301,700 tons over five months (up by 47.1 percent) and 65,300 tons in May 2022 (up by 77.4 percent), whereas gasoil manufacturing equaled 2.2 million tons over five months (up by 16.5 percent) and 519,000 tons in May 2022 (up by 41.3 percent).
Hydrocarbon liquefied gases output was 507,600 tons over five months of 2022 with an annual increase of 11 percent, whereas May output was 99,800 tons (up by 0.7 percent annual).
Electricity generation over the reporting period of 2022 equaled 48.5 billion kWh, which is 1.2 percent less than during the same period of 2021, whereas the volume of electricity generated in May 2022 amounted to 8.5 billion kWh, which is 2.8 percent less year-on-year.
The volume of thermal energy generated from January through May 2022 amounted to 45.1 million Gcal with an annual decrease of 2.7 percent, whereas May 2022 output was 3.9 million Gcal, which is 21.4 percent more than in May 2021.
