Iran announces number of people who lost their jobs in country

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. In total, 98,000 people lost their jobs in Iran, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).

In 3 months, 23,578,000 people aged 15 and older were employed in the country.

The employment rate in the country was 51.2 percent in the service sector, 32.7 percent in the industrial sector, and 16 percent in the agricultural sector over 3 months.

About 24 percent of people aged 15-24 in Iran were unemployed in 3 months. This shows an increase of 1.9 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In addition, 16.6 percent of people aged in the country 18-35 were unemployed for the reporting period. This is 1 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.
