Buy/sell operations at Iran Mercantile Exchange soar

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. A total of 2.06 million tons of goods worth 125 trillion rials (about $2.98 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (July 23 through July 28, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

This is an increase of 6.4 percent in value and 8.86 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (July 16 through July 21, 2022).

So, 1.89 million tons of goods worth 118 trillion rials (about $2.8 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.

According to the report, 1.63 million tons of goods worth 66.5 trillion rials (about $1.58 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.

The main products sold in this section include cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, molybdenum concentrate, gold bars and etc.

In addition, about 425,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 57.5 trillion rials (about $1.37 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, bitumen, lube cut, vacuum bottom, chemical substances, sulfur, bitumen, and etc.

Furthermore, 5,340 tons of various products worth about 1.27 trillion rials (about $30.4 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
