Iran’s non-oil trade turnover increases - IRICA

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Iran's non-oil trade turnover increased by 30 percent in value and 3 percent in volume, during the 1-year term of the current Iranian government (August 23, 2021 through August 22, 2022), compared to the ending year of the previous government (August 22, 2020 through August 22, 2021), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Latifi, the country's non-oil trade turnover for the reporting period amounted to more than 161 million tons worth about $109 billion.

“During 1 year, Iran exported more than 121 million tons of non-oil products worth $52.3 billion, which is an increase of 27 percent in value, while a decrease of 1 percent in volume compared to the previous similar period,” he added.

The customs official also said that Iran imported about 39.9 million tons of goods worth about $56.6 billion, which is an increase of 31 percent in value and 13 percent in volume compared to the previous similar period.

“Furthermore, about 13.9 million tons of goods were transited through Iran within the mentioned year, which is considered the highest figure in the country's annual transit data,” Latifi noted.
