Iran names details of monthly sales of goods at its Mercantile Exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. A total of 9.85 million tons of goods worth over 700 trillion rials (about $16.7 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

This is an increase of 7.48 percent in value, while a decrease of 4.4 percent in volume compared to the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 22 through August 22, 2022).

As reported, a total of 10.3 million tons of goods worth over 651 trillion rials (about $15.5 billion) were sold at the IME in the 5th month.

According to the statistics, 1.62 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 250 trillion rials (about $5.95 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 6th month.

These products were mainly various petrochemical products, including vacuum bottoms, bitumen, polymer substances, lube cut, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, and etc.

“In addition, 8.18 million tons of products worth about 443 trillion rials (about $10.5 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the 6th month,” the statistics said.

According to the statistics, various products, including cement, steel, iron ore, sponge iron, aluminum, zinc, copper, molybdenum concentrate, precious metal concentrate, gold bars, and so on were sold in this section.

At the same time, about 53,000 tons of various products worth 7.12 trillion rials (about $169 million) were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the 5th month, the statistics said.

Moreover, 306 billion rials (about $7.28 million) worth of real estate was sold at the IME for the reporting month.
