BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. In total, more than 2.06 million tons of cargo were transported from Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), Deputy Director for the Roads and Transport Department of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Teymour Bagheri told IRNA, Trend reports.
“Of the mentioned volume, 1.68 million tons were transported within the province, while 381,000 tons - to other provinces of Iran,” he said.
The deputy director noted that the transported goods were mainly construction materials, cement, oil products, rice and flour.
Bagheri also added that about 62 percent of the cargo was transported in Zahedan County.
According to the official, 3 cargo terminals, 69 cargo companies and more than 8,000 drivers operate in the province.
