BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. On average, Iran's Shahriar Turbine Components Company repairs 600-700 spare parts of power plants within the country per year, Executive Director of the company Masoud Moradi said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry.
Moradi said that domestic repairing each spare part costs an average of $200,000, which means the prevention of foreign exchange worth $120-$140 million a year.
“Previously, spare parts of power plants were sent to European countries for repair. However, Iran has been repairing these spare parts domestically for almost 30 years,” he added.
The director also noted that the company does repairs of power plant equipment abroad. Over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Shahriar Turbine Components Company repaired power plants worth $500,000 in Iraq and Syria.
Meanwhile, in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the value of the company’s services will increase to $1.5 million, Moradi pointed out.
