Iran shares data on fishery exports from Mazandaran Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. In general, 2,560 tons of fishery products worth $5.43 million were exported from Iran’s Mazandaran Province (northern Iran), during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), Director General of the Iran Fisheries Organization for Mazandaran Province Ghasem Karimzadeh said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Karimzadeh noted that the value of fishery exports from Mazandaran Province for 6 months increased by 52 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“In addition, 412 kg of sturgeon caviar, 36 tons of sturgeon meat, about 1,450 tons of various species of fresh fish, 53 tons of frozen trout, and 1,020 tons of fish feed were exported in 6 months,” he added.

The director general said that fishery products were exported to Belgium, Japan, Hong Kong, the UAE, Thailand, Iraq, Tajikistan and other countries.

“Currently, a large terminal for the export of fishery products is being built in Juybar County of Mazandaran Province. With the launch of the mentioned terminal in the near future, there will be a big increase in the export of fishery products from the province,” Karimzadeh also pointed out.
