BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. Iran’s export of non-oil products through Mehran customs in the Ilam Province (western Iran), increased by 72 percent in value and 84 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), Director General of Ilam Province Customs Office Rouhollah Gholami told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to Gholami, a total of 2.35 million tons of non-oil products worth about $1.09 billion were exported via Mehran customs in 8 months.
He added that the main exported goods were ceramics, metal materials, vegetables, petrochemical products, iron ore, cement, rubber products, various cars and related spare parts
The director general said that the non-oil export from the province is expected to exceed 3.5 million tons by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2023).
“In 8 months, cargo transit through the Mehran customs amounted to 114,000 tons. This is an increase of 87 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” Gholami noted.
