BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. A total of 243,000 tons of non-oil products worth over $98 million were exported from Iran’s Semnan Province in the north of the country, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), Governor of Semnan Province Mohammad Reza Hashemi said, Trend reports citing ISNA.

He made the remark at the meeting dedicated to the expanding of export from Semnan Province on January 30, 2023.

The governor emphasized that the province’s non-oil exports for 10 months increased by 23 percent in value, while decreased by 3 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Hashemi said that the province’s non-oil products were exported to 35 countries, mainly neighboring countries.

He added that the neighboring countries accounts for 80 percent of the non-oil exports in terms volume from Semnan Province.

The governor also stressed the importance of taking necessary steps to increase non-oil exports from the province.

“In order to export the province’s products more conveniently, customs points should be created in Garmsar and Semnan special economic zones,” Hashemi noted.

In general, Iran exported more than 103 million tons of non-oil products worth $45.3 billion within the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through January 20, 2023). This is an increase of 2.9 percent in value and 17 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
