BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 6. The value of Iran's non-oil exports is expected to increase to $52 billion for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 - March 20, 2023), Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), Alireza Peymanpak said at a press conference in Tehran on February 6, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The deputy minister emphasized that if the mentioned figure is reached, it will be a new record in Iran's annual non-oil exports.

Peymanpak also added that Iran exported non-oil products worth $45.3 billion during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023).

"At present, Iran is taking a number of steps to increase non-oil trade. One of these steps is to increase non-oil exports to the member states of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). So, about 90 percent of duties on Iran's non-oil exports to the EAEU member states will be abolished as of September 2023. Iran intends to have a large share in the $700 billion worth trade market of the EAEU member states," he said.

The chairman noted that 60 percent of Iran's non-oil products are exported to China, Iraq, Türkiye, the UAE and India. The TPOI encourages Iranian exporters to export goods that meet the market demand of various countries. In this regard special attention is paid to the markets of the African continent, Latin America, and East Asia.

Generally, Iran exported more than 103 million tons of non-oil products worth $45.3 billion within the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through January 20, 2023). This is an increase of 2.9 percent in value and 17 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
