BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. A total of 4 trillion rials (about $95.2 million) worth of loans have been issued for self-employment and entrepreneurship in Iran’s Ardabil Province in the north-west of the county, from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022) to February 18, 2023, said Yaser Abdollahi, deputy governor of Iran's Ardabil Province, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The deputy governor noted that the mentioned amount of loans were issued to more than 4,500 individuals.
“In order to create 32,000 new jobs in Ardabil Province, long-term programs are planned to be implemented and steps are being taken in this regard,” he added.
Abdollahi also said that there are currently 65,000 unemployed people in the province. It is necessary for all relevant agencies to take appropriate steps to provide unemployed people with jobs.
Iran’s Ardabil Province has 12 counties and a population of 1.28 million people.
