BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. About 1.8 million tons of goods worth approximately $1.75 billion were imported through the customs of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province in the south-east of the country, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023), Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi told Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.

Khashi said that the imports via the province’s customs for 11 months increased by 37 percent in value while decreasing by 20 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The official added that wheat, rice, corn feed, barley feed, mangos, bananas, tea, auto spare parts, and so on were the main goods imported to the country via the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province for the reporting period.

According to him, the mentioned goods were mainly imported from Russia, Pakistan, France, Germany, India, Brazil, the UAE, China, Thailand, the Netherlands, Kenya, and Afghanistan.

There are 12 customs offices and border markets in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

In general, Iran imported 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion within the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023). This is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
