Iran's dry tea exports increasing, Customs Administration says

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Iran's dry tea exports increased by 62.1 percent in value and 37.9 percent in volume, during the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same period in the preceding year, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to the IRICA, Iran exported a total of 33,600 tons of dry tea worth about $41.3 million within the mentioned 11 months.

Meanwhile, in the same period of the preceding year, the country’s dry tea exports amounted to 24,300 tons worth $25.4 million.

Over 11 months, Iran exported 33,200 tons of black tea worth $40.6 million, which is an increase of 70.8 percent in value and 42.1 percent in volume compared to 23,400 tons worth $23.7 million in the same period in the preceding year.

At the same time, Iran exported 380 tons of green tea worth $670,000 in 11 months.

Iran’s green tea exports for the reporting period decreased by 60.5 percent in value and 61.1 percent in volume compared to 980 tons worth $1.7 million in the same period in the preceding year.

Overall, Iran exported over 111 million tons of non-oil products worth $48.8 billion within the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023).

This is an increase of 12.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the preceding Iranian year.
