BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. Approximately 30,800 tons of goods worth $125 million were imported to Iran’s Semnan Province in the north of the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), head of the Semnan Province Customs Office, Morteza Hajiannejad told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to him, the imports to Iran’s Semnan Province for the reporting period increased by 103 percent in value, while decreasing by 2.3 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

Hajiannejad added that various spare parts, including auto, equipment, transformers and so on were the main imported goods.

The customs official also pointed out that the mentioned goods were imported to the province from 29 countries, mainly Türkiye, China, Germany, Czech Republic, the UAE, Japan, etc.

Meanwhile, Iran imported 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion within the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023).

This is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
