BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Azerbaijan is increasing the import of towing vehicles and trailers, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
The development of international road transport, and measures taken to increase the market share of national carriers, have led to new investments in this area. This is evidenced by a sharp increase in the number of tractor units (TIR) and trailers imported to Azerbaijan.
According to the ministry's statistics, the number of tractor units imported into the country in the first quarter of 2023 equaled 1,229, whereas the trailers and semi-trailers - 1,208. In comparison to the same period last year, the volume of imported towing vehicles increased by 93 percentand that of trailers and semi-trailers increased by 125 percent.
In general, in the first quarter of 2022, 420 tractor units, 371 trailers, and semi-trailers were imported into the country.
