BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. Iran’s non-oil exports via the customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 22 percent in value, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi said, Trend reports.
Khashi said that a total of 562,000 tons of non-oil products worth $223 million were exported through customs of the province within 2 months.
The official added that approximately $40 million worth of non-oil products were exported from Sistan and Baluchistan Province alone in 2 months, which is an increase of 11 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“In addition, 314,000 tons of goods worth $272 million were imported through the customs of the province during the two months. The import increased by 11 percent in value compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he noted.
There are 12 customs offices and border markets in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
Overall, Iran exported 21 million tons of non-oil products worth $7.51 billion within the first two months of the current Iranian year.
This is an increase of 12.3 percent in value, while a decrease of 13.7 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last Iranian year.
At the same time, Iran imported a total of 4.73 million tons of goods worth $7.94 billion for the first 2 months of the current Iranian year. This is a decrease of 4.79 percent in value and 8.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
