BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. The value of non-oil exports from Iran’s Semnan Province in the north of the country, increased by 48 percent, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, head of the Semnan Province Customs Office, Morteza Hajiannejad said Trend reports.
Hajiannejad said that a total of 33,700 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $15.2 million were exported from Semnan Province in 2 months.
The official added that sodium hydroxide, light hydrocarbons, lead, water conditioners, and so on were the main exported products from Semnan Province.
According to him, the mentioned products were exported to 36 countries, mainly Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and the UAE.
“In addition, various kinds of industrial equipment worth $122 million were imported to Iran’s Semnan Province from 10 countries for two months,” Hajiannejad noted.
Overall, Iran exported 21 million tons of non-oil products worth $7.51 billion within the first two months of the current Iranian year.
This is an increase of 12.3 percent in value, while a decrease of 13.7 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last Iranian year.
At the same time, Iran imported a total of 4.73 million tons of goods worth $7.94 billion for the first 2 months of the current Iranian year. This is a decrease of 4.79 percent in value and 8.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
