Value of weekly sales at Iran Mercantile Exchange up by 55%

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. In total, 2.8 million tons of goods and 588 passenger cars worth 318 trillion rials (about $7.57 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME), during the last Iranian week (June 10 through June 15, 2023), Trend reports.

The sales have increased by 55 percent in value compared to the preceding Iranian week (June 3 through June 8, 2023).

Meanwhile, 3.02 million tons of goods worth 205 trillion rials (about $4.88 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week.

Last week, 2.28 million tons of goods and mentioned number of passenger cars worth 232 trillion rials (about $5.53 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section.

The main products sold in this section included cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, lead, molybdenum concentrate and etc.

Furthermore, over 511,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 81.3 trillion rials (about $1.94 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week.

The main products sold in this section were bitumen, vacuum bottom, polymers, chemicals, lube cut, base oil, petroleum products, sulfur, etc.

At the same time, 16,100 tons of various products worth 5 trillion rials (about $119 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
