BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. A number of agricultural facilities worth 4.22 trillion rials (over $100 million) were put into use in Iran’s Isfahan Province within the framework of 138 projects, on June 17, 2023, Director of Isfahan Province Agriculture Department, Mehrdad Moradmand said, Trend reports.
According to Moradmand, 56 projects are related to plant production such as decorative and herbal, 34 projects are irrigation and preparation of farmland, 26 projects are related to natural resources, 6 projects are related to the development of nomads' territories.
The director added that 3.34 trillion rials (about $79.5 million) of the mentioned money were provided by the private sector, 630 billion rials (about $15 million) from the government and 250 billion rials (about $5.95 million) by bank loans.
He also said that 439 people were employed as a result of launch of the enterprises in the province.
There are about 570,000 hectares of agricultural land in Iran’s Isfahan Province. About 485,000 hectares of it is arable land. Also, there are about 85,000 hectares of orchards in the province. On average, 4.6 million tons of crops are harvested in the Isfahan Province per year.
