BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. Iran’s imports through the customs of Markazi Province, increased by 92 percent in value and 61 percent in volume, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Alireza Sadeghi said, Trend reports.
According to Sadeghi, 68,300 tons of goods worth approximately $220 million were imported through the customs of the province in 3 months and the imported goods from 44 countries, mainly the UAE, China, Türkiye, Iraq and Germany include lids of aluminum cans, anti-oxidants, carbon, pharmaceuticals, etc.
“In 3 months, the revenues of the province's customs amounted to 1.32 trillion rials (about $31.4 million), which is an increase of 186 percent compared to the same period last year,” Sadeghi said.
Overall, Iran imported 9.6 million tons of goods worth $14 billion within the first three months of the current Iranian year and this is an increase of 5.79 percent in value and 1 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
