BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. Local minibus production in Iran increased by 25 percent, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
According to the data of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, a total of 410 minibuses were manufactured in Iran within four months.
Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 328.
In the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2023), Iran produced 77 minibuses. This is an increase of 4 percent compared to 74 units in the same month of the last Iranian year.
Overall, 1,118 minibuses were produced in the country for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 10.8 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In total, 442,686 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks and trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran for the first four months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 30 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
