BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Iran’s imports through the customs of Markazi Province increased by 77 percent in value and 118 percent in volume, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Director General of Markazi Province Customs Office Alireza Sadeghi said, Trend reports.

The director general noted that a total of 100,000 tons of goods worth $304 million were imported through the customs of the province in 4 months.

He added that the main imported goods included lids of aluminum cans, anti-oxidants, carbon, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Sadeghi said that the mentioned goods were imported from 45 countries, mainly the UAE, China, Türkiye, Iraq and Germany.

“Meanwhile, the revenues of the province's customs for 4 months stood at 1.94 trillion rials (about $46.3 million), which is an increase of 59 percent compared to the same period last year,” Sadeghi also pointed out.

Overall, Iran imported 11.8 million tons of goods worth $19.5 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 10.8 percent in value and 6.18 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
