BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. The export of non-oil products from Iran’s Qeshm Free Trade-Industrial Zone in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 33 percent in value, during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Director of the customs office operating in the zone, Mokhtar Garshasbi said, Trend reports.
Garshasbi said that approximately $118 million worth of non-oil products were exported from Qeshm Free Trade-Industrial Zone within 4 months.
The director added that the goods were mainly exported to the UAE, Somalia, Qatar and Kuwait.
According to him, the value of non-oil exports from Qeshm Free Trade-Industrail Zone is expected to reach $500 million by the end of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
Overall, Iran exported about 45.8 million tons of non-oil products worth $15.9 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year, which is a decrease of 7.97 percent in value, while an increase of 28.6 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last year.
