BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. Iran exported 1,382 kg of caviar worth about $900,000 to various countries, during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), Trend reports.
In general, Iran exported caviar to 26 countries for 5 months, according to the data of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
During the reporting period, Iran’s caviar exports reached a total value of $634,500, with the UAE being the largest buyer ($298,000 for 470 kg), followed by Germany ($101,000 for 159 kg), Belgium ($80,300 for 112 kg), the Netherlands ($78,700 for 111 kg), and Japan ($76,500 for 103 kg).
On average, about 16 tons of caviar are produced in Iran per year. Iran plans to increase caviar production to 100 tons by 2026.
Overall, Iran exported 55.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $19.3 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 26.5 percent in value and a decrease of 8.55 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
