BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Iran's petrochemical exports via the customs of Bushehr Province (southern Iran), increased by 12 percent in both value and volume, during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Customs Inspector of Bushehr Province Customs Office Ali Soleimani said, Trend reports.
“Within 5 months, 12 million tons of petrochemical products worth $4.7 billion were exported through the customs of Bushehr Province,” the official noted.
He added that methanol, ammonia, liquefied gas, urea, polyethylene, polystyrene were the main petrochemical products exported for the reporting period.
According to Soleimani, the mentioned petrochemical products were exported to 45 countries, mainly to China, the UAE, Türkiye, India, and Sri Lanka.
Overall, Iran exported 55.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $19.3 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 26.5 percent in value and a decrease of 8.55 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
Iran's non-oil exports exclude only crude oil, mazut, and white oil. Due to imposed sanctions, Iran cannot freely export the mentioned products. That’s why it attaches importance to the export of non-oil products.
