Iran names details of non-oil exports from Mehran customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. More than 1.46 million tons of non-oil products worth $822 million were exported through Iran’s Mehran customs in the Ilam Province (western Iran), during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Director General of Ilam Province Customs Office Rouhollah Gholami said, Trend reports.

The director general noted that the country’s non-oil exports via Mehran customs for the reporting period increased by 12 percent in value compared to the same period last year.

Gholami added that the main exported goods were ceramics, metal products, vegetables, petrochemical products, iron ore, cement, rubber products, cars and related spare parts, etc.

He also pointed out that Mehran Customs has been the first place among 12 border customs between Iran and Iraq in terms of export of non-oil products for 3 years.

Iran’s Mehran Customs is on the border with Iraq. The customs office is located approximately 230 kilometers from Baghdad.

Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
