BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. The coal concentrate output of two companies operating under the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), decreased by 10 percent in the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
The mentioned two companies are Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company and Central Alborz Coal Company.
As reflected in the data of IMIDRO, the two companies produced a total of 287,017 tons of coal concentrate in 5 months.
So, Tabas Parvadeh Coal Company produced 236,241 tons of coal concentrate, and Central Alborz Coal Company - 50,776 tons for the reporting period.
Also, these companies extracted 818,507 tons of minerals within five months.
At the same time, 338,575 tons of coal concentrate were sent by the mentioned two companies to local companies in the country over 5 months This is an increase of 10 percent compared to 306,684 tons in the same period last year.
Reportedly, Iran's total coal reserve is about 14 billion tons, of which about 1.2 billion tons are extractable. Also, Iran has the capacity to extract 3.3 million tons of coal mineral and produce 1.9 million tons of coal concentrate per year.
