Iran details Qazvin Province’s imports in six months

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. As many as 102,000 tons of goods worth $596 million were imported to Iran’s Qazvin Province, located in the north of the country, in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Director General of Qazvin Province Customs Office Saeed Naderi said, Trend reports.

According to Naderi, the main imports to the province were truck spare parts, other machinery and equipment, as well as related spare parts and raw materials.

He added that 89 percent of the goods brought to the region were from five countries: the UAE (43 percent), China (31 percent), Türkiye (11 percent), Germany (2 percent), and Italy (2 percent).

The director general also pointed out that the revenue of the province's customs for the reporting period stood at 140 billion rials (about $3.3 million).

Overall, Iran imported 17.6 million tons of goods worth $30.4 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023). This is an increase of 11.6 percent in value and 6.89 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
