BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. Iran’s manufacturing of various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, lorries and trailers, and so on), increased by 22.6 percent in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the data from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, a total of 642,930 various vehicles were manufactured in Iran within six months.
Meanwhile, in the first half of last Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), the figure stood at 524,256.
In the 6th month alone (July 23 through August 22, 2023), Iran produced 106,027 various vehicles, showing an increase of 4 percent compared to 101,981 units in the same month of last Iranian year.
Overall, approximately 1.35 million vehicles, including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, heavy trucks and trailers, vans, buses and minibuses, and so on, were manufactured in Iran during the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), a 39 percent increase over the previous year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
