BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. Iran’s domestic minibus manufacturing increased by 2.7 percent in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the data from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, 496 minibuses were manufactured in Iran for 6 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period previous year, the figure stood at 483 units.
In the 6th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), Iran produced 47 minibuses, representing a 42.7 percent decrease compared to 82 units in the same month last year.
Generally, 1,118 minibuses were produced in the country for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 10.8 percent compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
In total, 642,930 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, trucks, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran in the first half of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 22.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies, Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
