BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. The amount of money spent for establishment of industrial enterprises in Iran’s Zanjan Province, located in the west of the country, increased by 378 percent in the first half of this Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade of Organization of Zanjan Province Majid Golshani Monfarid said, Trend reports.
According to Golshani Monfarid, Iranian government spent about 51.9 trillion rials (around $1.24 billion) for the establishment of enterprises in the province's industrial sector during six months. The figure stood at 10.8 trillion rials (roughly $258 million) in the same period the previous year.
The chairman also said that the as result of these funds, many enterprises were established in the province, which employed 3,660 people. This was a 277-percent increase in employment compared to the same period last year, he added.
He further said that currently, 48,500 people work in the industrial enterprises of Zanjan province.
Generally, the Iranian government plans to spend a total of 135 trillion rials (about $3.21 billion) in the industrial sector of Zanjan Province in this Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
There are currently more than 1,200 industrial enterprises operating in Iran’s Zanjan Province.
By the end of the next Iranian year (March 20, 2025), more than 100 industrial enterprises are planned to be launched in the province. Over 4,000 workers are expected to be provided with jobs once they are operational.
