BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. More than 2.04 million tons of non-oil products worth around $1.17 billion were exported through Iran’s Mehran customs in the Ilam Province (western Iran), during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), said Miragha Abdi, the head of Ilam Province Customs Office, Trend reports.

Abdi also said that the country’s non-oil exports via Mehran customs for the reporting period grew by 7 percent in value compared to the same period last year.

He added that the main export items were construction materials, agricultural products, petrochemical products and industrial products, etc.

Meanwhile, last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), about 3.26 million tons of non-oil products worth around $1.6 billion were exported through Iran’s Mehran customs, showing an increase of 39 percent in value and 44 percent in volume compared to the previous year.

Iran’s Mehran Customs is on the border with Iraq. The customs office is located approximately 230 kilometers from Baghdad.

Overall, Iran exported 90 million tons of non-oil products worth over $32 billion in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). This is an increase of 1.6 percent in value and 27 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
